Graham Cracker Houses

YESSS! It has finally arrived! The forever favorite task of decorating graham cracker houses! As a kid I remember making these at school and at home with my little brosif Keaton. The general rule is to buy cheap yucky candy because who eats cardboard covered in frosting that has been sitting for days upon days??? No one I know ;c)

I made blue berry muffins for breakfast, 11 to be exact... I know that seems odd, literally... but I just followed the directions on the box...
After some yummy muffins with ketchup (okay i'm alone on this)... we watched a CLASSIC movie, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and snuggled up on the couch under the pretty lights.
After you two went down for a nap we started our houses... We knew we had to create a structure but were fresh out of empty milk cartons... We do however have an abundance of cardboard boxes from the move! We measured, cut and created some massive square houses! I was impressed with my  our building skills ;c)
I went grocery shopping earlier in the day and picked up a few necessities... Then we went to work!
Your Dad's roof totally beat my rice chex shingles! He also made a caramel transformer, Caramel-tron ;c)
I went the tedious route and layered my roof and lined up tiny colored dots into a rainbow for the front... I also made a caramel creation, a little Rudolph ;c)

We had a super great time and I am very impressed with our finished product... now, where are we going to put them to keep your little hands away...

Here are a few pictures from the day...

This is the night/portrait setting... hmmmm... I should learn more about the camera...

I love you both equally and more than anything!

  1. Hey dear I must say that your candy houses have greatly improved since you and Keaton used to make great big super messes here. As a matter of fact I am really impressed with both houses. I am sure the boys will have a great time tearing them appart! Love, Dad

  2. Another thing, I had a copy of Christmas Vacation on the President Harrison, and I watched it often...It really would make me feel close to you and Keaton so many thousands of miles away from you both.
But good god girl...katsup on muffins...I had forgotten...
    Love, Me
